They’re different, but they’re both offered by the same company, Rise Science. The RISE Sleep Clinic provides one-on-one insomnia treatment with licensed psychologists. Some patients use the app to track sleep patterns between sessions and support their care, but it is not required.

  • 201 cloudy days: The cloudiest major metro in the country. Your circadian system needs morning light to set its clock, and Seattle frequently doesn't deliver. From October through March, many workers commute in the dark both ways. Research on seasonal affective disorder shows that longer winter nights can extend melatonin secretion into waking hours, paradoxically making sleep lighter and less restorative even when you're exhausted.

The work is mentally demanding, deadline-driven, and often extends into evenings. Screens before bed compound the light-deprivation problem.
